Apple Support - Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program

Users with ultracompact power adapters should immediately stop using them until they exchange them for a new, redesigned ultracompact adapter.

Description

Important Safety Notice

Today Apple announced the Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange program.

Apple has determined that under certain conditions the new ultracompact Apple USB power adapter's metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, creating a risk of electric shock. We have received reports of detached blades involving a very small percentage of the adapters sold, but no injuries have been reported.

The ultracompact USB power adapters were supplied with every iPhone 3G sold in the following countries, and may also have been purchased separately as an accessory:

* US
* Japan
* Canada
* Mexico
* Several Latin American countries (click here for a detailed list of countries)

    I'm not sure if this really counts as a deal, although it is certainly good info for iPhone 3G users. It looks more like a safety recall notice and exchange program.

    Marked as "no value" just so mods can look at it and determine if it counts as a deal or not.

      If it does not count as a deal MIKE and YAN would not have cleared it.

      It's cool if you do now want to count this as a deal, but still I like to put it out there for people to know since there are a lot of people using these adapters.

      It's not always about winning contests, I thought you wanted to make this a one-stop shop where you get all your info. Well but again, you say a lot....your long speeches.

      I like to keep this on for the BUXR community and well this was a hot item on another website.

      Sometimes even the mods miss stuff, and all of us serve as a secondary level of inspection, so flagging it for a possible re-evaluation makes perfect sense. However, apparently the mods have looked it over and left it up, so we will see how the community reaction turns out. Will it sink, swim, or ride the waves home...?

    People need to post more info like these especially when it's big brands like APPLE.

    No value, this is not a deal. Seems a bit pointless to submit something (as a freebie none-the-less) which has no value at all.

    Already stated reason, really don't like having to enter why I vote things down. Smile

    Votes should be anonymous if voted down and reasons should be optional.

    Free replacement by the manufacturer is a useful info however the value is questionable since the scope is limited to the owners of above said device. When we have the forums up, this will be the place to post news like this

    Some info posts still qualify as deals, but I don't think this one clears the "deal" bar.

    Until we have the forums, we'll let this stand in the deals section. Again, people are free to vote on offers as they wish...

    How about this was never posted , no one would know about it. A lot of stuff of BUXR is missed out because of some people just don't let things come in. Understood this is not deal-of-the-day material, but good since you get to know about it and well Apple USB adapters are out ( a lot of them) >> people know about it and can use that info.

    If you do not have a Apple adapter , I can pass this deal and go to the next one.

    This will just help the community grow and help BUXR become a central location for any sort of deal information.

    Well some people just like to let that happen --- they just like to give long speeches and more speeches.

    You website MIKE YAN ....do as you like, but this sort of negative marking and grouping to pull deals down will just inhibit more people to come in. They will come but who will deal with this sort of thing.

    anyways ...have it your way.

    I know I will lose a point , but well I felt this was good info --and needs to get posted
