Help us Choose the Weirdest Deal on Buxr
August 16th, 2010
There’s such a wide variety of deals submitted on Buxr that part of the challenge to visitors of the site is to figure out what some of the items are used for! Buxr members recently had a discussion about such deals, and remembered a few of their favorites. These are some of the ones I liked, in no particular order. Most are still available, and it was pretty hard to narrow the list down to just ten of them!
- This purple hat for small dogs would probably give any male dog a very big ego, while helping to keep the female dogs in line at the dog park!
- The 7-pack of flying monkeys is both funny and useless at the same time. It’s a wonderful gift idea to torment just about anyone. If you’re not sure exactly what to do with them, here’s a demonstation of the flying monkey slingshot. It can be launched up to 50 feet, and the monkey’s screaming as it flies through the air is vital to the effect!
- The free vasectomy offer is truly a one-of-a-kind freebie. A few members expressed concern about the fact that the actual procedure would be performed by a contractor. It does make you wonder why it’s being offered, does that particular part of the country have a population explosion?
- Everyone agreed that these 2 items were somewhat unrecognizable at first glance, and could have multiple purposes. A creative imagination could provide several possible uses for the silicon stress relief toy or the battery powered full body massager. The silicon product is a stretchy object filled with soft beads that’s somewhat hard to describe, while the massager is designed in the form of a hand (described on the deal site as a “lovely UFO-shape appearance”) and would make anyone laugh out loud.
- The water-powered clock would actually run on any electrolytic liquid, and this marvel of science and engineering attracted a small following. Buyers would have to provide their own flowers and water, though, and it would most likely appeal to minimalists.
- Rovio is a wi-fi connected robot that comes equipped with a webcam, microphone, and speaker with 2-way audio. Control it with PC, MAC, iPhone, or PS3 over the Internet to drive it around the house, take pictures of the family, and e-mail them to friends. It even has a built-in LED headlight, making it an electronic peeping bot in all lighting conditions.
- I wondered just how many people got on the free ”fly your face in space” offer. After you sign up, pick your mission, and upload your photo, you’ll get a commemorative certificate signed by the mission commander that you can print and frame. Listen up guys, this could be a great pick-up line!
- An artificial grass rabbit is perfect for all those people who insist on buying Chia pets for everyone on their holiday shopping list. Are you one of those recipients? At least this pet would be maintenance-free, and stay green without having to water it. Just clear off any dust with a hair dryer. A squirrel, horse, and dog are also available in the same eco-friendly green color.
- You’ll get a close encounter of the alien kind with this Remote Control UFO. The mini machine can fly indoors or outdoors with LED flashing lights, and has dual counter-rotating blades for easy takeoff and landing. It’s currently out of stock at Buy.com but still available from Amazon.
- Buxrites are still wondering what is the real purpose of a Star Wars Force Trainer. While the original sale is no longer offered, the product can still be found on Amazon for a higher price, if you’re willing to buy it without understanding its function! This demo describes how 15 levels of training will help you learn to move objects with your mind.
Which of the deals do you like best? And what would it take to get you to buy it? Would you give it a try if the price was really cheap, or would you buy it simply because it’s strange? Go to this discussion topic, vote for the weirdest deal of your choice, and the submitter of the winner will get a prize – our Buxr branded shopping tote!
