Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts for the Bargain Hunter
May 6th, 2009

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and if you are a procrastinator like me, you probably haven’t gotten a gift yet. Well, I have good news for you, it’s not too late. And to use another cliche, “better late than never.” So to help you folks out, I decided to compile a little list of nice Mother’s Day gifts for the bargain hunter and last minute shopper.
Did you know you can get a free Hallmark card with the magic of a little coupon code? It’s true, and they’ll even pay your postage if Mom doesn’t mind getting her card a little late.
Take Mom out to Smokey Bones Bar & Grill for a free meal for mom. This is perfect for the struggling artist or college student that doesn’t have a lot of money. Just remember, bring a little cash because you still have to pay for your own meal
If you don’t happen to live near a Smokey Bones Grill, try TGI Friday’s nice little free desert deal for Mom.
Here’s another tip, don’t send your Mother Woot’s random bag of crap! But you should send your Mother a free goodie bag that comes filled with beauty and fragrance products from Macy’s.
If your Mom is anything like mine, she’ll love some sweets. Nothing like a great deal from Fanny May with up to 20% off a chocolate purchase. They deliver, so you really have no excuse.
Another traditional Mother’s day gift, that never fails are flowers. Since we are cheap at Buxr, we naturally have a deal from 1-800-flowers for 15% off. You may get burned on delivery charges at this point, so make sure you factor in that cost.
Now I know times are tough out there, so if you just don’t have any money to spare, there are some simple things that go a long way. For example, if you live in a different state or country, AOL is offering free phone calls on Mother’s Day weekend. Another thoughtful idea might be to write a handwritten letter. So few people write letters these days, that it will sure be touching to read.
There you go… Now you have no excuse to miss Mom this year. Have any other ideas? Would love to hear your comments.
