February Contest Results

March 1st, 2009

Greetings Buxr Members,

It’s been a short but great month at Buxr.com. We feel that we are finally turning the corner with participation with plenty of new members and lots of great deals. So we are glad that we have some first time members, as well as long time members winning prizes this month. So let’s get right to the results…

Here are the winners for the February 2009:

1st Place: Kldpm with 192 points and winner of $150 in cash!
2nd Place: Vinhdanh with 162 points and winner of $100 in cash!
3rd Place: MrCheap with 140 Points and winner of $75 in cash!
4th Place: Arzkar with 137 Points and winner of $75 in cash!
5th Place: Solstice with 125 Points and winner of $50 in cash!
6th Place: Steve_05 with 107 Points and winner of $50 in cash!

Congrats to two relatively new members Kldpm and Vinhdanh on their first contest wins. It’s quite a feat to show up as a newbie and pull off the kind of wins they have achieved. Speaking of achievement, we must mention that one of our oldest and most prolific members, Mr. Cheap takes home his first prize, which is well deserved. Finally, I want to mention Solstice’s win, who is also a Buxr veteran and valuable community member. Solstice managed to win a monthly prize without submitting very many deals (just 28). Instead he won by accumulating points for voting on good deals. Solstice has proved a point that Yan and I have long been trying to convey, that you can win without submitting deals. Simple participation can yield rewards in the monthly contest. So congrats to all our winners, we literally could not do it without you!

Daily Contest Changes Effective March 1st, 2009:

We are making one change to the daily contest this month, and it’s a bonus to deal submitters who share many good deals. Starting today we will be awarding one daily contest winner an extra $5 bonus prize for most total votes accumulated over a 24 hour period. So if you win the daily prize, we also take in to account the total number of votes your other deals accumulated. If you end up with the most total votes for that day, we will bonus another $5 to your daily prize winnings. We thought this is a nice way of rewarding those who take the time to submit many quality deals throughout the day.

Monthly Contest Changes Effective March 1st, 2009:

We know the recession has hit hard for many families and Buxr community members. So we are introducing, what I like to call the “Buxr stimulus package.”

OK, it’s not quite a stimulus package, but we are bumping up our total cash payout for March. We know you have to spend money to make money, so that’s why we giving more away. Please take a look at our new prize amounts. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Refer Friends and Win More Prizes

We have made our Refer a Friend contest easier than ever to participate in. We have removed the activity requirements for newly registered members that we had in previous months. Just refer your friends to the Buxr community, and you could win even more prizes. By inviting new friends you help spread the word about Buxr, and grow the community.

Participation is easy, simply email your friends with a referral link, and you’ll get contest credit when they become registered members. If you share a deal with a friend, and they wind up registering at Buxr via that link, that counts as a referral! If you have a website or blog, you have more options to refer members – the Buxr Badge, a text link or our cool widget.
