January Contest Results

February 2nd, 2009

Front page redesign is a success:

We promised a lot of change in 2009, and we think we’ve already delivered. If you haven’t noticed, please check out our newly redesigned front page. We’ve gotten rid of our old design, and replaced it with a customizable dashboard. That being said, to call the new front page a redesign does not give it enough credit. The new home page adds a new level of usability to the site and provides a quick bird’s eye view of everything that is important to you. Whether it’s deals, discussion forums, or the daily contest results you can find it at a glance. And remember it’s a completely custom dashboard. Add a wish list, deal alerts, and more. We hope you check it out, we think you will love it.

Now let’s get to the January contest results:

1st Place: Steve05 with 173 Points and winner of $150 in cash!
2nd Place: Merlin with 160 Points and winner of $100 in cash!
3rd Place: Solstice with 147 Points and winner of $75 in cash!
4th Place: vinhdanh with 147 Points and winner of $75 in cash!
5th Place: phunkeey with 137 Points and winner of $50 in cash!
6th Place: JackBauer with 129 Points and winner of $50 in cash!

Congratulations to all of our winners, with a special thanks to Mr. Cheap, Acid Reign, Emma123, Lady Zaxxon, arzkarm and Ashley. Finally, we want to thank all of the new members that have recently ramped up their contributions to the site!

Daily Contest Changes

The daily contest has been an enormous success for Buxr, and we want to keep the ball rolling. This month we are making a small adjustment. We are putting a cap on the amount of prizes we will be awarding for freebies. Buxr is a deals site, and although we love freebies, we can’t afford to give away a large portion of our deal prizes for freebie submissions. Starting this month we will be limiting the freebie prizes to 1 prize daily. So for example if we gave away 4 daily prizes, no more than 1 of the prizes would be for freebies. The new limit affects only real freebies (e.g. free product samples or free ebook/music/game downloads) and not in-store offers or printable coupons.

Thanks again for making Buxr a success, and look for more exciting changes and announcements in the next few months!

Cheers,

Mike & Yan @ Buxr.com
